Today, a joint Letter of Intent to Cooperate was signed between the South West State of Somalia Ministry of Justice and the Expanding Access to Justice program (EAJ). Through the Letter of Intent, EAJ seeks to partner with the Ministry of Justice to promote interventions collaboratively to expand the quality and reach of justice assistance to the people of Somalia. Specifically, EAJ seeks to support the Ministry of Justice in developing a network that convenes state justice institutions alongside civil society to improve substantially and sustainably the quality and scope of justice assistance in the state. The Letter of Intent was signed in a ceremony observed by the Minister of Justice of Southwest State of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Hussein Hassan, and EAJ Chief of Party, Anton Pestana.
